The Temecula Valley Symphony hosts an annual Young Artist Competition each season. The 2020 event was held on Sunday, March 8 with cash prizes being offered: 1st place $400, 2nd place $300, and 3rd place $200.

The audition committee selected three winners to perform one movement of their concerto with the Symphony, live in concert on a future scheduled date. The original plan was to feature the winners on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at 2:00 pm for the “WINNERS!” concert. Due to COVID-19 this concert had to be cancelled.  Plans are being made to feature them on an upcoming concert but details are still forthcoming.

2nd place Minji Kim – Violin, Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, Saint-Saens
3rd place Andy Yang – Cello Concerto in E minor, Op. 85, Elgar
