Mission Statement

Temecula Valley Symphony aspires to provide quality, innovative and compelling music programming and serves as a leader of the arts in our community, through an organization that provides the support necessary for these efforts, in an atmosphere that is fun, positive, and supportive.

The Symphony

No longer Southwest Riverside County’s “best-kept musical secret,” Temecula Valley Symphony (formerly known as Inland Valley Symphony) has grown in size and artistic achievement. In 2015 the Symphony was renamed as TEMECULA VALLEY SYMPHONY.

Now in its 22nd Season, Temecula Valley Symphony is being hailed as a leading cultural attraction in the region.  Readers of the Inland Empire Magazine recently voted TVS as one of the Best Live Entertainment Venues in the Inland Empire!

Temecula Valley Symphony is a 60 member regional symphony that attracts musicians from throughout the Southland and is a mix of professionals and accomplished volunteers who dedicate their time and talent to the Symphony. The majority of the orchestra’s musicians live and work in the Temecula Valley. Additional musicians come from various regions of Southern California including the counties of Riverside, San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego.

Temecula Valley Symphony performs 6 to 8 concerts per season in addition to making special concert appearances at other venues. The City of Temecula features the Symphony on its annual Veteran’s Day Concert in front of the Temecula Civic Center.

The Symphony is also working in collaboration with The Barn Stage Company, Temecula’s newest professional theater company, and has performed and will be performing on various musicals throughout the Season.

Members of the Symphony are actively involved in arts education and community outreach and provide coaching to numerous students throughout the area.

Each year the symphony hosts a Young Artist Competition. Students audition for the opportunity to play a movement of their concerto with the Symphony, live and in concert. Cash awards and awards of recognition are also presented to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.

TVS often presents a FREE recitals throughout the year at various venues, featuring soloists and ensembles from the symphony as well as other guest artists. Advanced students are also given an opportunity to perform on some programs.

Several exclusive recitals such as our COLORS OF MUSIC series are planned throughout the season, outside of the orchestra’s normal concert calendar, that feature virtuoso talent. These recitals are held in smaller venues and provide a unique opportunity to be up close and personal with the soloist and include a social reception following the concert.

The Organization

The Symphony is registered as a non-profit, tax exempt 501(c)(3) organization, under the name of Inland Valley Symphony dba Temecula Valley Symphony, Temecula Valley Symphony Chorus, and Temecula Valley Youth Symphony. The organization is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised community leaders and musicians from the organization.

Various area business people and arts leaders serve on the symphony’s Advisory Board and provide support for the organization by providing in-kind services on an as-needed basis.

Concerts, community outreach activities and the Symphony’s music education program are made possible by individual membership subscriptions, grants and corporate sponsorship.

In 2008 the Temecula Valley Symphony founded the Temecula Valley Youth Symphony (which was known as Inland Valley Youth Symphony at that time). The Youth Symphony (TVYS) performs several concerts per season with a roster of over 50 young musicians. The Youth Symphony currently offers three levels of ensembles, including performance opportunities for young musicians from ages 6 through 28 and includes the Youth Symphony, Junior Youth Symphony and Prelude (beginning strings). TVYS focuses on providing quality music education for the children with emphasis on preparing them to be more successful musicians and good students of the arts.

In addition to performing concerts, the musicians of the adult symphony volunteer to assist beginning music programs in the area by providing coaching. They work closely with local school music departments to raise the awareness of classical music and nurture the development of young musicians.

The TVS Young Artist Competition is held during the 1st quarter of each year with the winners being selected to perform a movement of their concerto with the Symphony in concert during the Spring.

The Symphony continues to experience exceptional growth and frequently has record breaking concert attendance. TVS has significantly increased its volunteer base of patrons and community supporters over the past six years and is poised to be a major arts leader in Southwest Riverside County.

Community members and patrons are discovering that they no longer have to make long trips to San Diego, Orange County or Los Angeles to find quality music productions. Temecula Valley Symphony offers exceptional music programming, entertaining for all ages, at an affordable price.
