Temecula Valley Symphony Concerts and Special Events
The Temecula Valley Symphony organization is comprised of several different performance groups which include the Symphony, Youth Symphony, and Junior Youth Symphony.
Each performance group schedules concerts throughout the season and on occasion they partner up to perform together.
Please stay tuned while our hard-working team creates a fantastic 2022-2023 season. In the meantime, please let us tell you about the various events that TVS presents each year.
Symphony Concerts
Temecula Valley Symphony is under the musical direction of Conductor John Mario. John Mario is nationally known as the orchestral conductor for the young singing star Jackie Evancho and is highly respected for his extensive experience conducting orchestras and coaching opera. Dr. Zun-Hin Woo serves as the TVS Concertmaster and Assistant Conductor. “Hin” also guest conducts orchestras in Hong Kong and China.
The Symphony’s concert attendance continues to grow each season due to creative programming that includes classical music, and features symphonic selections from movies, Broadway, and popular music. Concerts are often enhanced by inviting world-class soloists, or amazing local talent to perform with Temecula Valley Symphony.
TVS presents 6-8 ticketed concerts per season, and at several civic related events each year for the cities of Temecula and Murrieta. TVS is also available to make guest appearances and perform for concerts outside of its ticketed season. During pre-Covid years concert attendance ran between 450 to 750 people per concert with audiences of over 1,000 attending civic concert programs.
Each season TVS has a large number of complimentary tickets available to distribute to school music programs, under-served members of the community, special needs programs, homes for battered women and children, and the elderly providing them with an opportunity to attend a live symphonic concert. Inquiries for comp tickets should be directed to 951-587-1536.
City Concerts
The Temecula Valley Symphony works closely with the City of Temecula to present special concerts several times a year. These concerts have been presented in front of the Temecula Civic Center on the Saturday before Memorial Day, on Veteran’s Day, as well as special concerts designated for families in the Ronald Reagan Sports Park at the CRC Amphitheater in Temecula. These programs are sponsored by Temecula’s Community Services Department. The Temecula Valley Youth Symphony is also invited to perform at least one city concert per year.
In September of 2021 the Symphony was invited to present a concert for the City of Murrieta called “Remembering 9/11” which was held at Murrieta’s new Town Square Park Amphitheater.
Chamber Music Concerts
Many members of the Temecula Valley Symphony are professional musicians who enjoy presenting chamber music performances. These concerts are also ticketed events as part of the Symphony’s season schedule and have endearingly been coined as the “Colors of Music” chamber music concert series.
Youth Orchestra Concerts
Temecula Valley Youth Symphony offers music students an opportunity to participate in weekly rehearsals in an orchestral setting. TVYS is directed by Dr. Zun-Hin Woo, Concertmaster & Assistant Conductor of Temecula Valley Symphony; and the Junior Youth Symphony is conducted by Dr. Sylvia Lee Mann, the Symphony’s Principal Violist.
In addition to weekly rehearsals, these groups present four ticketed concerts per season and make several other concert appearances in the community. The groups are active in providing young musicians an opportunity to perform in collaboration with other performance groups or to make special guest appearances in the community.
