Temecula Valley Symphony

The City of Temecula and Temecula Valley Symphony proudly present CARNIVAL OF MUSIC conducted by Music Director John Mario, Sunday, March 25, 2018 at 3:00 pm at the Temecula Amphitheater (30875 Rancho Vista Road).

City of Temecula Mayor Matt Rahn states, “Temecula Valley Symphony’s free performance provides another in a string of quality cultural offerings that makes Temecula such a vibrant, supportive, and safe place to live, work, and play. The combination of music familiar to children, the hands-on musical instrument petting zoo, and the addition of a female conductor in celebration of Woman’s History Month are all sure to spark enthusiasm of classical music in our youth. We hope everyone takes advantage of this fantastic cultural opportunity.”

This free concert will feature music for young audiences with selections from Star Wars, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, Harry Potter, and Pirates of the Caribbean along with classics such as Aaron Copland’s Hoedown, the William Tell Overture by Rossini, Seventy-Six Trombones, and more! Youths will enjoy the narrated tale of Goldilocks and the Three Bears with various orchestral sound effects. The concert will be followed by an educational component and informational introduction to musical instruments, displayed on the patio, with musicians from the Symphony demonstrating and inviting participation.

Guest vocalist Emily Chelsea will be the featured artist and narrator for the concert. She is well-known throughout the region for her various theatrical appearances with The Barn Stage Company in Temecula, as well as other theater groups in San Diego and Los Angeles.

In honor of Women’s History Month, the Symphony will also feature guest conductor, Dr. Sylvia Lee Mann conducting her composition Solstice Celebration.

Dr. Mann is the founder and conductor of the Southland Symphony Orchestra (in Ontario, CA) and is a professional violinist, violist, and on staff at Cal State Dominguez Hills and Chaffey College.

The Musical Instrument Petting Zoo, hosted by The Master Musician from Murrieta, will provide young people with an opportunity to try out some of the instruments and become more familiar with their various sounds. Bring the kids to discover our Musical Instrument Petting Zoo!
