Adam Timney currently attends Great Oak High School in Temecula, California. He has been playing the violin for six years and the piano for twelve, studying with Dr. Zun Hin Woo and Maestro John Mario Di Costanzo, respectively. Adam currently serves as the concertmaster and president of the Great Oak String Orchestra, where he manages practices, performances, and music selection. During the program’s debut at the Forum Festival, Adam was awarded the Outstanding Musicianship Award. He has won the Steinway Piano Competition of Riverside County, the Rotary Music Competition of District 5330, and the World Stage Tour Music Competition, performing at venues such as the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Adam is also a member of the Great Oak chapter of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. He has also had the honor of serving as a guest conductor for several orchestras, including both youth and professional groups. Outside of music, he is an IB Diploma candidate and AP student, serving as the secretary of the Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society. Adam is also the founder and president of the Great Oak “Stratagem” Chess Club. In college, Adam plans to continue his studies in both music and a STEM field.
